From Movable Type to Tumblr to Wordpress

So I’ve given Tumblr a try and I like it, but what I don’t like AT ALL is the way Tumblr archives. It’s nearly impossible to search, tag, categorize, etc. And since the web is all about the long tail and searchability, I think I’m going to change over to Wordpress and keep on feeding it into Tumblr (just so I can stay connected with everyone here).

Mind you, I was on Movable Type previously, but Wordpress just has a more active developer community and has plugins and starter templates up the wazoo.

Luckily, Rick found this really cool Wordpress plugin that let’s you blog in easy Tumblr-style. That means I don’t have to fuss too much with the backend. Sweet, because that’s the Tumblr feature I like the most… that and the community.

So the changeover won’t happen for a while, I have to redesign the site, etc… but thought I’d let you know because I’m interested in hearing what your thoughts are on Tumblr’s archiving system.

ZADI DIAZ

Hi, I'm Zadi Diaz. Welcome to my personal blog.

I'm the co-creator and host of EPIC FU. I'm not your typical technophile. I love the sun, don't take myself too seriously, and I'm obsessed with video cameras, editing stations, art, music, unconventional thinking, and weirdly creative people. I think technology is cool as long as it works. I want to make the world a better place. I can be mean-funny. Chocolate makes me happy.

If you want a more professional approach, you can check my LinkedIn profile. This is just for fun.
